O-Shot

August 15, 2023
Vaginal Rejuvenation

The O-Shot, also known as “the orgasm shot,” is a non-surgical procedure that uses a form of regenerative medicine called PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) to improve sexual wellness and vaginal rejuvenation. The O-Shot is recommended for those experiencing loss of libido, difficulty in reaching orgasm and vaginal dryness. It also helps improve symptoms of lichen sclerosis and stress incontinence.

The O-Shot uses PRP extracted from your own blood. It is the part of blood with the highest concentration of regenerative and healing proteins. For enhanced orgasms and sexual wellness, PRP is injected into erogenous zones of the clitoris, vulva and vaginal walls. PRP promotes new tissue growth and vascular regeneration, stimulates blood flow and lubrication, and enhances sensitivity.

Benefits:

  • The O-Shot employs your own cells
  • No allergic reaction
  • By-products of the O-Shot procedure extend beyond enhanced sexual wellness to include general vaginal rejuvenation. Because of PRP’s regenerative capabilities of healthy new cells, tissue and vasculature, increased oxygen and nutrients are carried in and around treated areas.

What is PRP?

PRP, acronym for platelet-rich plasma, has become a mainstream form of regenerative medicine. It is commonly used to heal injuries and treat chronic inflammatory issues. It is also used for hair restoration and skin rejuvenation.

PRP is a blood concentrate made of only two of many components of blood: plasma and platelets. Plasma is the liquid part of blood that has platelets. Platelets are the part of blood that has growth factors and stem cells. Platelets allow your blood to clot, accelerate healing, reduce inflammation and regenerate new healthy cells and tissue.

The quality of PRP is dependent upon the quality of your own blood supply. Of particular importance to PRP quality, hence, the success of your PRP treatment, is your blood’s clotting capabilities and the quality and density of its oxygen and nutrients.

What happens during the O-Shot procedure?

Expect the entire procedure to take about an hour.

  • Compounded numbing cream is applied to vaginal areas to be injected.
  • The patient’s blood is drawn. The vial of blood is placed in a centrifuge for the required speed and time to separate the plasma and platelets from the other blood components.
  • The provider will confirm the efficacy of numbing cream with the patient.
  • PRP is injected into target areas in the vaginal wall, the vulva and the clitoris.
  • The patient can leave immediately following the procedure.
  • There are no post procedure limitations and no downtime.

Possible Side Effects:

  • Bleeding
  • Swelling
  • Discomfort at injection site
  • Altered urinary stream from swelling
  • Persistent arousal
  • Spontaneous orgasm
  • Perpetual lubrication

How often should the O-Shot be repeated?

Heightened sensitivity from the O-Shot is generally immediate. As swelling and the injected PRP fluid subside, results wane. Results improve with time as regeneration of new cells, tissue, vasculature occurs. Peak regeneration usually occurs between 3-4 months. For most patients, the effects of the O-Shot last well over a year.

To boost or keep the regenerative effects of the O-Shot, patients usually follow-up with another O-Shot about a year after the first one.

Because physical aging speeds up with time, repeating the O-Shot for its regenerative capabilities every 1-2 years is ideal to quell the aging process.
